DOI: 10.1002/elps.202100097 The cover design shows cocoa crops, which are cultural, economic, social, and environmental aspects of some places in Brazil, South America, other continents. Phytopathogens a risk for crops their legacy. When ceratocystis wilt symptoms appear, it is already too late to apply fungicides or adopt field disinfection procedures, while plant death imminent. Resistant genotypes the best way deal with disease, but there no effective method classify resistant susceptible clones. We demonstrate an LC-MS based untargeted metabolomic screening analysis evaluate level resistance cacao when infected by C. cacaofunesta fungus, constitutes novelty this work.

Genetic variation in populations of the cacao wilt pathogen, Ceratocystis cacaofunesta
Ceratocystis cacaofunesta ( = Ceratocystis fimbriata ) causes a lethal wilt disease of cacao ( Theobroma cacao ) in Latin America. Polymorphic microsatellite markers, (CAT) 5 nuclear DNA fingerprints and Hae III mitochondrial DNA fingerprints were used to compare genetic diversity among isolates of C. cacaofunesta collected from populations in western Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Rondônia...
متن کاملChemotaxonomy of Trichoderma spp. Using mass spectrometry-based metabolite profiling.
In this study, seven Trichoderma species (33 strains) were classified using secondary metabolite profile-based chemotaxonomy. Secondary metabolites were analyzed by liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS-MS) and multivariate statistical methods. T. longibrachiatum and T. virens were independently clustered based on both internal transcribed spacer (ITS...
متن کاملDrug metabolite profiling and identification by high-resolution mass spectrometry.
Mass spectrometry plays a key role in drug metabolite identification, an integral part of drug discovery and development. The development of high-resolution (HR) MS instrumentation with improved accuracy and stability, along with new data processing techniques, has improved the quality and productivity of metabolite identification processes. In this minireview, HR-MS-based targeted and non-targ...
متن کاملComparative Metabolite Profiling of Two Rice Genotypes with Contrasting Salt Stress Tolerance at the Seedling Stage
BACKGROUND Rice is sensitive to salt stress, especially at the seedling stage, with rice varieties differing remarkably in salt tolerance (ST). To understand the physiological mechanisms of ST, we investigated salt stress responses at the metabolite level. METHODS Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to profile metabolite changes in the salt-tolerant line FL478 and the sensitive vari...
متن کاملFourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance mass spectrometry for plant metabolite profiling and metabolite identification.
Mass spectrometry (MS) is usually the technique of choice for metabolomic studies where the volume of sample material is too limited for applications employing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. With the advent of ultra-high accuracy mass spectrometers such as the Orbitrap (resolution ∼ 10(5)) and the Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance (FT-ICR) analysers (resolution potential...
